Job description

The Inventory Manager is a strategic supply chain leader responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials, inventory, and finished goods across the operation. This role oversees inventory control, material planning, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure production requirements are met while optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and maintaining service excellence. The ideal candidate will drive operational performance through lean process improvements, data-driven decision making, and strong leadership of inventory and logistics teams. This position partners closely with production, customers, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure supply continuity, inventory accuracy, workforce effectiveness, and achievement of key business objectives.

This is an onsite role in our Mount Juliet TN facility.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production and operational requirements
  • Lead inventory control, cycle count programs, and material management processes to maintain high inventory accuracy
  • Monitor inventory levels and develop strategies to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and supply disruptions
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of materials and products throughout the facility
  • Establish and maintain document control processes to support inventory integrity and compliance
  • Develop reporting and analytics to monitor product flow, inventory performance, SLA attainment, and operational KPIs
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and inventory control teams to achieve operational excellence
  • Manage staffing, labor utilization, workforce planning, and departmental productivity
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and development
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure effective onboarding and training programs for new and existing team members
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
  • Design, track, analyze, and report key operational metrics to drive performance improvements
  • Support new product introductions, business growth initiatives, and customer onboarding activities
  • Partner with senior leadership to establish departmental objectives and execute strategic initiatives
  • Drive lean practices and continuous improvement programs that reduce costs while maintaining service and quality standards
  • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support business objectives and drive operational success
  • Serve as a key liaison between departments, shifts, suppliers, and customers
  • Provide operational and technical expertise during business development and customer implementation efforts
  • Effectively manage changing priorities and customer demands in a fast-paced environment

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, distribution, supply chain, or high-volume manufacturing environments
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, inventory management, and logistics operations
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience, including managing supervisors and multiple teams
  • Strong experience developing and utilizing KPIs, operational reporting, and performance metrics

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • APICS CPIM certification
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes
  • Oracle and/or Microsoft Great Plains experience
  • Knowledge of WIP management, warehousing operations, and inventory control best practices
  • Experience leading continuous improvement or lean initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Visio

Pay Range:

$74,600.00 - $124,700.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
