Job description

Some of what you will do:

The Inventory Control (IC) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, integrity, and operational efficiency within the Fulfillment Center. This role oversees all inventory-related processes including cycle counting, adjustments, transfers, reconciliation, returns, and inventory investigations while ensuring proper utilization of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), specifically Manhattan.

The IC Supervisor works closely with operations teams, inbound, outbound, and shipping teams to maintain optimal inventory health and minimize discrepancies across the facility.

Specifically, You Will:

Inventory Accuracy & Control:

  • Lead and supervise daily inventory control operations, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy across all warehouse locations.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, variances, and shrinkage.
  • Ensure proper handling of returns, RTV (Return to Vendor), and damaged inventory.
  • Monitor inventory adjustments and ensure they are properly documented and approved.

Warehouse Management System (WMS) - Manhattan:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Manhattan WMS related to inventory transactions and controls.
  • Monitor system transactions including receiving, put-away, picking, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot WMS inventory issues and coordinate with IT or system support teams when required.
  • Generate and analyze reports from WMS to track inventory health, discrepancies, and operational performance.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

  • Develop and implement inventory control best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, reduce errors, and increase operational efficiency.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and coach Inventory Control associates and lead hands.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Coordinate with inbound, outbound, and operations supervisors to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare regular inventory reports, variance reports, and root cause analysis.
  • Support management with data-driven insights to improve inventory performance.
  • Monitor key inventory KPIs such as inventory accuracy, shrinkage, cycle count completion, and adjustment trends.

Some of what you need:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Inventory Control or Warehouse Operations.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a fulfillment center or warehouse environment.
  • Strong expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Manhattan WMS.
  • Experience with cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory audits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
