Overview A leading law firm is seeking a Conflicts & Intake Specialist to support the firm's new business intake and conflicts review processes. This role is responsible for reviewing intake requests, conducting conflict and risk analysis, maintaining conflicts databases, and supporting client and matter onboarding activities.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, experience within a law firm conflicts environment, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and business professionals in a fast-paced setting.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule and requires candidates to reside within commuting distance of one of the firm's office locations.
Responsibilities - Conduct first-level review and analysis of conflict check requests for new clients, matters, and lateral hires
- Support the client and matter onboarding process, including conflicts, confidentiality, due diligence, jurisdictional, and reputational risk reviews
- Research and analyze potential legal and business conflicts using firm databases and external resources
- Maintain and update conflicts and intake databases, ensuring accurate client and matter information
- Review engagement letters for accuracy related to scope and billing rates
- Communicate with attorneys and business professionals to gather information and resolve conflicts-related issues
- Assist with special projects related to professional responsibility, compliance, and conflicts initiatives
- Support the team with additional administrative and operational tasks as needed
- Maintain a strong client-service mindset while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
Requirements - Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience within a law firm conflicts or intake department
- Experience with law firm client onboarding processes preferred
- Familiarity with Rules of Professional Conduct related to conflicts of interest
- Understanding of corporate structures, including companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Experience with Intapp and Aderant preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with the ability to interact professionally at all levels
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, team-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
