Electrician Lead
Location: Anchorage, Alaska - Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson
Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
Compensation: $59.85 - $59.85 per hour

Tessera is seeking an experienced and detailed Electrician Lead with a positive attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Delegate tasks and provide clear guidance to members of the Structures team, ensuring all work is accomplished safely and in compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.
  • Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Responsible for replacing lamps and ballasts.
  • Responsible for cleaning lighting fixtures, replacing receptacles, various switches, and other connections, and performing miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
  • Inspect, install, and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Minor electrical installations and repairs, including, but not limited to, outlet repair and /or replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors, and ground fault interruptions, etc.
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
  • Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights.
  • Must be able to drive up to a 1-ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer.
  • Must be able to work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
  • Must have the ability to distinguish between different wire colors.
  • Inspire, motivate, and guide team members to reach work goals.
  • Assist Quality Control and Safety departments in training and inspections as needed
  • Utilized mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
  • Must wear PPE as required.
  • Be proficient with NFPA 70 and 70E and comply with ANSI C2.
  • Utilized digital inspection tools such as infrared thermal imaging.

Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of commercial electrician experience required.
  • State of Alaska journeyman electrical license required.
  • State of Alaska electrical administrator license required.
  • Alaska certificate of fitness required.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and from manlifts.
  • Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours, such as after hours and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
