Job description

Schedule: PRN, as needed. Type: In Person.

Sheppard Pratt at Baltimore/Washington Campus is an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Howard County serving adults and adolescents.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Social Worker (LCSW-C or LCPC) The hired individual performs a full range of clinical social work services primarily geared to adult psychiatric patients in support of the patient's primary therapist/treatment team.  Interviews patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress. Communicates with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of adults.  Conducts individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families in order to assist in resolving personal and environmental problems that prevent them from achieving their highest level of psychosocial functioning. Participates as a member of the treatment team or, if working on a residential program or an outpatient clinic, as a primary therapist. Develops and assists in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.

Requires: 

Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education and possession of a Maryland State Social Work license (LCSW-C) or Professional Counseling license (LCPC)
