Job description

 Hours of Job
  • Full time, 72 hours per pay period.  
  • Dayshift, start times between 0600-0730
  • Every 4th weekend
  • Every 4th holiday 
Duties and Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains knowledge and skills to perform Transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms and assists with Transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills to perform holter monitor hook-up and scanning.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills to perform or assist with all forms of Stress testing.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills to perform EKGs.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills to recognize arrhythmias and potential hazards associated with the arrhythmias.
  • Submits studies to physicians for interpretation and collaborates with interpreting physicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Possess basic skills needed for rhythm recognition and basic computer skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, employees, peers, physicians, and outside regulatory agencies.
Education/Certifications
  • Education requirements are High school diploma and Graduate of a credentialed school for Cardiac Sonography.
  • Required to be a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) (Credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing, Inc.) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Credentialed by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or obtains one of the above credentials within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support obtained from AHA recognized program, or obtains within 3 months.
Experience
  • A minimum of one-year experience as Cardiac Sonographer or a graduate of a Cardiac Sonographers program is required.
