About TheDeLUXETheaterTheDeLUXETheater is a historic cultural hub in Houston's 5th Ward, dedicated toshowcasingfilm, performance, and community-driven programming. We are building a dynamic digital presence that reflects the energy, creativity, and culture of our community.
Position OverviewThe Social Media Intern will play a key role in capturing and shaping the visual story of TheDeLUXETheater. This role is ideal for a creative who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys documenting live events, and understands how to create engaging content for social platforms in real time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Capture photo and video content at live events (including evenings and weekends)
  • Edit and deliver recap videos and photo selects with quick turnaround times
  • Create short-form video content for Instagram and TikTok (Reels, Stories, posts)
  • Assistwith content planning and execution aligned with event programming
  • Write captions and support posting across platforms
  • Record voiceovers and appear on camera when needed (training provided)
  • Maintain organized media files and content archives
  • Monitor trends and suggest creative ideas to increase engagement

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiencywith Instagram, TikTok, and their in-app editing tools
  • Experience using CapCut (or similar mobile editing software)
  • Strong senseof timing, storytelling, and visual composition
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality
  • High availability, especially evenings and weekends
  • Strong communicationskills and willingness to collaborate

Preferred (Not Required)
  • Experience with professional photo/video equipment (DSLR, mirrorless cameras, audio gear)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop)
  • Previousexperience managing or contributing to brand/social media accounts
  • Comfort being on camera and creating personality-driven content
