The Role and What You'll Do:

The Assistant Editor is responsible for supporting the Zuffa life event edit staff in their daily needs, facilitating the archive of fighter reels and maintaining all pre-production needs for content airing in our TV broadcasts. This position is also responsible for creating template-based graphics and ensuring their delivery to the editing team. This position does not travel and remains at Zuffa headquarters. Due to remote needs, this position will periodically work the swing shift into the late evening.

  • Clips highlights after each event using a Digital Asset System; logs and exports content from the Digital Asset System for use by editors.
  • Creates projects in AVID Media Composer for each event and builds base of media for editors. This includes but is not limited to: highlights of each fighter on card, name graphics, and specialty footage.
  • Creates template-based name identifying graphics to be used in broadcasts.
  • Creates and delivers template-based animations to be used in broadcasts.
  • Manages media for multiple events simultaneously within storage capacity limitations.
  • Edits content as needed to support live event requirements.

You Have These:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Basic editing skills and knowledge of AVID Media Composer or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of various video codecs and compression methods.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud preferred, especially Photoshop and After Effects.
  • Knowledge of post-production standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and to execute on-time and on-task.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to small details.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within team environment.
  • Excellent decision-making ability.
  • Knowledge of UFC historical information helpful.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, such as swing shift, graveyard shift, and weekends.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and ability to learn other basic computer programs.
