Position: Custodian

FLSA Status: Part time opportunities available, $13-14/ Hour experience considered, various hours, weekend help needed.

Reports to: Facilities Director

Posting Date: 7-8-2026

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility as it pertains to member perception and membership and program growth and retention. A detailed daily checklist of cleaning duties will be followed.

SERVICE FUNCTIONS
    1. Cleaning all areas of the building within realm of responsibility.
    2. Cleaning cardio and weight equipment.
    3. Dusting and detail cleaning.
    4. Vacuuming carpeted areas.
    5. Toilet and shower scrubbing and sanitizing.
    6. Informing supervisor of cleaning supply inventory and supplies needed.
    7. Snow removal from sidewalks, entrances, emergency exits. Salting the sidewalks, entrances and parking lot handicap spots as needed.
    8. Landscaping help on all YMCA property.
    9. All other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
    1. One to two years related experience preferred.
    2. Minimum age of 21 years.
    3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
    4. CPR and Praesidium safety training provided.

PHYSICAL DEMAND Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds and use various floor cleaning machines.
