About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Reno, Nevada, 89502!

Registered Nurse (RN) – Same Day Surgery / Recovery Room (PACU)

Location

Reno, Nevada

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (Travel) | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | 3 x 12-hour variable shifts, Monday–Friday, shift times vary between 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 8:00 AM–8:30 PM, or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM | 36 guaranteed hours per week

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems in a Same Day Surgery and recovery room setting
  • Deliver comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative nursing care in accordance with unit and department competency standards
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure individualized patient outcomes across the episode of care
  • Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial awareness specific to the patient population served, meeting age-specific competency standards
  • Float to other areas of the organization as needed, up to competency level, and pick up one additional shift per schedule period
Required Qualifications
  • Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Competency assessment (CMP) completed within 1 year of start date (applicable to Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS roles)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in surgery and/or recovery (PACU/Same Day Surgery)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a high-volume or Level II Trauma Center environment
  • Familiarity with robotic surgery or advanced surgical technology settings
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional call shifts as department needs require
