AHC SGMC Behavioral HealthIf you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.Adventist HealthCare Behavioral Health seeks to hire an experienced Music Therapist for our Expressive Therapy Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Behavioral Health Music Therapist, you will:
Organizes and conducts therapeutic activities such as dance, music, arts, crafts, social activities, trips, group discussions and special programs in according to what the patients' needs, capabilities, and interests are
Participates in the development of a treatment plan for patients after evaluating the patients based off of their medical records
Documents specialized therapy assessments, treatment plan, and progress notes in the patients' charts
Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff by demonstrating knowledge of safety issues and proper use of equipment and supplies
Assists in ordering and maintaining the Expressive Therapy supplies/equipment
Observes changes in patients' behavior and health condition and reports to RN
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field, Master's degree preferred (e.g. recreation therapy, music therapy, art therapy)
Music Therapy - Requires board certification as MT-BC and licensure in MD as LPMT. Bachelor's degree in music therapy required, Master's degree preferred.
2 years' experience in acute care psychiatric setting preferred
Board Certification/registration preferred
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:
