JOB SUMMARY

The Security Shift Supervisor plays a key leadership role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and company assets during assigned shifts. This position supervises and supports the daily operations of the casino security team, ensuring that all procedures and policies are followed in accordance with gaming regulations, internal controls, and property standards.

The Security Shift Supervisor responds to incidents, coordinates emergency responses, conducts investigations, and monitors security systems to ensure operational integrity. This role also involves coaching and directing Security Officers, managing shift schedules, writing reports, and serving as the point of contact for management during their shift. Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and direct Security Officers on shift to ensure consistent performance and policy compliance

  • Respond to incidents involving guests, employees, or property, and manage emergency situations

  • Conduct preliminary investigations and complete detailed incident reports

  • Ensure coverage of all security posts and adjust assignments as needed

  • Monitor casino floors, hotel property, and parking areas for suspicious or unsafe activity

  • Provide guest assistance with professionalism and courtesy, including conflict resolution

  • Coordinate emergency responses with internal departments and external agencies

  • Deliver shift briefings, ensure proper handover, and communicate operational updates

  • Support the training, coaching, and development of new and current security team members

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred

  • Minimum 2-3 years of casino or security-related experience; prior supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of gaming regulations, emergency response procedures, and security protocols

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license and any other applicable certifications

  • Proficient with incident reporting systems and basic computer applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in the security field or as a police officer a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs as needed

  • Loud enviornoment with cigarette/cigar smoke
