Job description

Arcosa Wind Towers is seeking "Surface Prep Operator"/Blasters. In this role you will operate hand tools and equipment to prepare interior and exterior surfaces for coating operations. This position also operates automated blast system and handheld grit ballast equipment to remove scale, corrosion, paint, and dirt.

Location: Tulsa OK 74116, USA

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 6am - 4:30pm , with occasional mandatory overtime (Schedule/Overtime is subject to change based on business needs).

What you'll do:

  • Purge surfaces of all chemicals and contaminates through simple processes
  • Remove scale, corrosion, paint, and dirt
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • Proficiently operate automated blast system
  • Proficiently operate handheld grit blast system
  • May metalize surfaces
  • May be involved in committees or initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools or ability to learn within 6 months
  • Knowledge of handheld grit blast system or ability to learn within 6 months
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat all coworkers with dignity and respect and support a positive working culture

Working Conditions:

  • Safety sensitive position
  • Full-time hourly position, this position would require the candidate to be available for multiple shift
  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds which operate multiple shifts and frequent weekend shifts
  • This position frequently requires work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.

  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
