Position Title: Senior Director of Business Development Expendable Systems
Location: Irvine, CA
Work Arrangement: Remote
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Business Development Expendable Systems to lead growth initiatives within our Expendable Airborne Systems division. This role is based in Irvine, CA (or remote/hybrid), and focuses on expanding our footprint in the Aerospace & Defense sector, specifically in areas involving Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Counter-UAS technologies, loitering munitions, and other manned/unmanned aircraft systems.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth in the expendable airborne systems market.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the aerospace and defense sectors, focusing on UAS, counter-UAS, precision strike, loitering munitions, and related technologies.
  • Lead engagement with key customers, government agencies, and industry partners to promote and position our developmental projects and product offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and program teams to align business development efforts with technical capabilities and project timelines.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategic planning and identify growth opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance brand visibility and build strong relationships.
  • Manage proposal development, contract negotiations, and close deals that support long-term business objectives.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Manager or Director of Business Development or similar leadership role within the aerospace and defense sector.
  • Proven track record of success in U.S. DoW and/or International Business Development with demonstrable program wins.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Aerospace & Defense sector to include UAS, counter-UAS, loitering munitions, and other manned/unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth through strategic planning and execution in developmental projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage complex sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with US Government procurement processes and defense contracting is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) processes, with a track record of success in NATO or Allied markets.
  • US Military or US Government experience.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field; Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • High proficiency with business software including Microsoft Suite and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Must be capable of working non-standard work hours as required (evenings, weekends).

Clearance Level Required: Must possess or be able to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
Export Control / ITAR Requirement: This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.
Travel Required: Must be capable of traveling up to 50% of the time domestically and internationally.

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.

Work Authorization Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Salary: $200,000 - $220,000 annually with commissions
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.

Pay Range: $200,000 - $220,000 per year
