Job description

Ensures Every Guest Leaves Delighted.  Responsible for baking and operation of ovens, mixers and other equipment..  Other duties may include cutting, prepping, pre-portioning items, & monitoring portion control  Responsible for maintaining a sanitary bakery work station.  May be responsible for opening and closing duties.    Ensures each and every item meets Young’s standards. Must be able to work well with othes as a team.

  • Starting in May and continuing through October, all Staff working any weekend shift (Saturdays & Sundays) will receive $2 per hour extra pay called Weekend Bonus. This will be paid the following month on a separate check. Half of our business occurs on the weekend – that’s when you are most needed and most valuable to Young’s. Weekend Bonus is a thank you for being here on the weekends and helping our Guests have a great visit.

Requirements:

Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Experience: Must have basic math skills.

Physical:

Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to five hours in length.  Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and have the ability to lift pots, pans and trays frequently weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to handle repetitive motions throughout the shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares food for the Customers in accordance with recipes.
  • Safely handle large bakery equipment.
  • Measures and weighs product.
  • Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors all food served relative to appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards.
  • Cleans and keeps bakery area organized and sanitary at all times.  This includes, but is not limited to storage racks, floors, walls, grills, ovens, stoves, storage areas, etc.
  • Opening duties include but are not limited to : Ensure all product is displayed and dated prior to opening.
  • Closing duties include but are not limited to: Clean and sanitize area prior to leaving, restaurant and date all food.
  • Completes other related tasks as assigned.

Young's is a working dairy farm with a restaurant, homemade ice cream, farmstead cheese, miniature golf, driving range, batting cages, an animal petting area, watch us milk the cows daily and plenty of fun events throughout the year!
We are open year-round. Our busy season starts in April and ends in late October. It takes about 300 employees to keep Young’s going during this busy time of year. Most of our workforce is in high school or college and tend to stay with us for 2-3 years as they complete school. We have a core group of about 80 full time Staff; many have worked with us for 20 plus years. We are blessed with a great Staff who work hard to create great Guest experiences. A dozen of our workforce, by the way, are Young family members.
