What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend golf driving range attendant?

To thrive as a Weekend Golf Driving Range Attendant, you generally need basic customer service skills, reliability, and a high school diploma or equivalent. What is a weekend golf driving range attendant?

A weekend golf driving range attendant is responsible for managing the operations of a golf driving range during weekends. Duties typically include assisting customers, dispensing range balls, maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, collecting and cleaning golf balls, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for guests. Good communication skills and a friendly attitude are important for this position.

While both roles involve working in the golf industry, a Weekend Golf Driving Range typically focuses on providing a casual environment for golfers to practice, often requiring minimal certifications. In contrast, a Golf Instructor usually holds specialized certifications and offers structured coaching, often on golf courses or private settings. The choice depends on your experience level and career goals within the golf industry.

What are the typical responsibilities of a weekend golf driving range attendant?

Working at a golf driving range on weekends often involves assisting customers with purchasing range balls, maintaining the cleanliness of the range, and ensuring all equipment is in good working order. You may also be responsible for collecting and washing golf balls, setting up tee areas, and answering customer questions about services. Since weekends are typically busier, strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are important. Teamwork is key, as you’ll collaborate with other staff to provide a great experience for all visitors.

We're excited to announce an outstanding career opportunity for a Player Assistant at Starr Pass Golf Club in beautiful Tucson, Arizona.
As part of the Troon-managed family, we're looking for individuals who thrive in a hospitality-driven environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional service to members, resort guests, and visitors alike.
While the game of golf may be played independently, the full experience is supported by a dedicated team behind the scenes. The Player Assistant plays a key role in enhancing that experience-managing the many details that ensure a seamless and enjoyable round. From golf carts and range balls to the overall presentation of the clubhouse and surrounding facilities, your efforts contribute directly to the impression we make on every guest.
If you're personable, service-oriented, and eager to work in a dynamic outdoor setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Required Skills:
  • All candidates must have a valid driver's license or driver's permit as they will be operating equipment that requires so.
