Provo City is hiring seasonal laborers to perform outside work on the Timpanogos Golf Course for the 2026 season. This work requires weekend hours including Saturday and Sunday. Hours and timeframes vary depending on weather and season.

What shifts are available?

Peak season hours are 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Turf/Irrigation Technicians: All Open Hours, 7 Days per week (5 - 6 shifts per week)

Mowing Crews: 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (5 shifts per week)

Weekend Mowing Crew: 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (Saturdays and Sundays)

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending upon skill level and experience.

All Seasonal Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive these great benefits: a) free admission to the Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating; b) a free Provo City Library Card; and c) discounts from various local and national vendors. Timpanogos Golf Club employees are also provided free golf, carts, and range balls when available.

What will I do?

  • Perform general maintenance duties including routine manual labor.

  • Operate mowers, dump trucks, or other light equipment.

  • Grease reels and motors.

  • Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis.

  • Report equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager.

  • Wash, clean, and maintain equipment and grounds shop/garage.

  • Rake bunkers.

  • Assist in constructing new greens, tees, and fairways.

  • Lay sod and seed tees, greens, and fairways.

  • Install paths using gravel and asphalt mixes.

  • Excavate and backfill ditches and trenches with hand tools.

  • May be assigned responsibility to care for and maintain several designated holes on the golf course.

  • Assist other crew members as needed and perform other related work as required.


What do I need to apply?

  • Any training or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Working knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and equipment required by the position.

  • Physical strength and agility enough to perform the work, ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner.

  • Valid, lawful driver license. Commercial driver license may be required at time of appointment.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.

What are the hours and duration?

Positions are for a fixed term from approximately February through December.Hours of operation are 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday. Employees will work 4- to 8-hour shifts within these hours.Actual schedule will vary throughout the season, including weekends and holidays, and will be coordinated with supervisor.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This position requires extended periods of physical labor outdoors, including walking, bending, kneeling, lifting heavy materials and equipment, and operating turf maintenance machinery. Duties are performed on uneven, sloped, or wet terrain in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or wind. Tasks may involve exposure to loud equipment, dust, fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf care chemicals. The role may require early morning or weekend hours and involves working independently or as part of a team.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
