Job description

Transplant, Cellular Therapy, and Hematology Department Position

Our department is the Transplant, Cellular Therapy, and Hematology department. We see adult patients at Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion who are diagnosed with hematologic disorders, both malignant and benign. The BMT side of our department sees patients undergoing Allo and Auto stem cell transplants as well as CAR-T therapy. The hematology side sees patients with various malignant and benign hematology disorders. Because of the nature of these diseases, our team builds a strong rapport with patients and families. We see patients both for provider visits as well as for various infusion needs in our BMT/Hematology infusion clinic. We have 4 providers and 8 APPs. We also have several RNs that work as coordinators and infusion RNs, as well as support staff. Our department is very team-oriented, and we work hard to foster a strong culture of teamwork and open communication. We encourage team members to bring forth issues and any solutions they feel might help.

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse (RN) in the examination and treatment of patients to facilitate clinic flow and provide excellent patient care. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and policies; communicate observations to members of the health care team. It will also include rooming patients, collecting vitals, and assisting in minor office procedures. EPIC In basket work. Processing FMLA and short-term Disability work. Answering phones.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
