Job description

Position Title: Forensic Accountant
The Forensic Accountant plays a critical role in the legal process. This position demands a high level of detail and accountability, as the accountant will be responsible for preparing financial disclosures and analyzing complex financial documents. The role involves close collaboration with legal teams and requires a proactive approach to managing deadlines and client expectations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellence are essential for success in this role.
Forensic Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Prepare initial Mandatory Disclosure and preliminary Financial Affidavit and Prenuptial Agreement disclosures
  • Independently conduct financial analysis and tracing as needed
  • Review, index, and sub-file all financial documents
  • Investigate and trace income, assets, and non-marital claims
  • Analyze personal and business income tax returns and financial statements
  • Prepare accountant-level schedules, including Equitable Distribution and Net Worth Statements
  • Analyze retirement benefits and determine division methods
  • Arrange for appraisals of real and personal property
  • Coordinate with private investigators as necessary

Forensic Accountant Requirements:
  • Experience with high net worth, financial affidavits, and equitable distributions
  • Ability to read and analyze financial documents
  • Experience as a Forensic Accountant, including handling family disclosures; certified fraud examiner designation is a plus
