General Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production machinery in accordance with maintenance system procedures, while serving as a primary communication channel between internal clients and the Maintenance Department. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.

Experience, Knowledge, and Competencies

  • Technical or university‑level education (recent graduates welcome).
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Experience in installation and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Experience with automated processes and production equipment.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits.
  • Basic knowledge of facility systems (air, water, power).
  • Ability to read electrical, control, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Knowledge of drive parameterization, sensor adjustment, and process configuration.
  • Understanding of safety components and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Interpretation of mechanical, structural, and machinery blueprints.
  • Organizational skills, teamwork, sense of urgency, and strong problem‑solving ability.
  • Mattress or furniture manufacturing experience preferred (C3, Bäumer, coilers, quilting, sewing, foam cutting, upholstery equipment).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent service‑oriented attitude within the department and across other departments.
  • Execute and follow up on assigned daily tasks, maintaining clear communication internally and externally.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to the schedule established by the Maintenance Manager and generate reports using company‑approved formats.
  • Execute corrective maintenance effectively, document work performed and update the maintenance database.
  • Perform necessary adjustments, calibrations, and corrections to operational machinery.
  • Monitor the operation of assigned machinery and maintain equipment in optimal condition.
  • Participate in failure analysis and root‑cause investigations.
  • Provide technical training to personnel in training or operational roles.
  • Work in compliance with company safety standards and maintain a healthy, safe work environment.
  • Promote company values in daily activities.
  • Support production by responding quickly to equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with machine setups, changeovers, and process improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, TPM, 5S).
  • Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve machine performance and reliability.

Preferred Technical Experience

  • C3 mattress assembly equipment
  • Bäumer foam cutting and processing systems
  • Bed spring coilers and wire‑forming machinery
  • Quilting machines, sewing machines, lamination systems, upholstery equipment
  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens)
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience

Job Requirements

  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects (20 kg / 50 lbs or more).
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working around moving machinery.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature changes, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, weekends, and on‑call as needed.
