Job Title: Foam Operator / Production Operator

Location: On-site โ€“ Charlotte, NC
Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour (Contract to hire)
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Mondayโ€“Thursday, 4:00pmโ€“2:00am

About the Role:
Kelly Services is seeking a Foam Operator to join our door manufacturing team in Charlotte, NC. As part of our production crew, youโ€™ll operate specialized machinery, ensure quality standards, and help keep our manufacturing process smooth and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the automated Seimpelkamp foam system on the production line.
  • Accurately complete daily production and scrap reporting.
  • Record temperature settings and foam density checks, completing daily checklists to optimize productivity and quality.
  • Calibrate process chemicals and perform routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Coordinate associates on operations following the foaming process.
  • Use basic computer functions for reporting and tracking.
  • Communicate with line leader regarding schedule, quality, and any barriers to optimal production.
  • Compare measurements to specifications for finished product quality.
  • Read and interpret instructions, diagrams, schedules, and blueprints.
  • Operate forklift, power pallet jack, manual carts/pallet jacks for material handling.
  • Follow work instructions carefully and pay attention to detail.
  • Adhere to safety, PPE, OSHA, and Environmental Health & Safety rules, plus ISO requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace according to 5s standards.
  • Achieve daily production targets and meet quality standards.
  • Work required overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong team communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High dexterity and skill for assembly, construction specs, and visual quality checks.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred, not required.
  • Able to communicate in English (reading/writing not required).
  • Basic math skills for calculations with fractions and decimals.
  • Accurately read a tape measure and compare measurements against specs.
  • Effective at reading/interpreting instructions and diagrams.
  • Adaptable, with good hand/eye coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to quickly and effectively adapt to change.
