You are a dependable, hard-working colleague that will make a difference for our customers and fellow colleagues every day. Your impact will range from maintaining farm property, equipment, and facilities to caring for farm animals, particularly sheep.
A Day in the Life:
As part of the Microbiology Division team, you will help our customers find solutions and workflows for food, clinical and pharmaceutical environments. You will be responsible for:
  • Feeding animals daily and provide care as needed.
  • Setting up equipment for bleeding, maneuver animals into shoots, bleed animals as needed, and clean area thoroughly.
  • Assisting with general farm upkeep of fence lines, drainage ditches, lawn, house/farm repairs including minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Providing basic feed and upkeep for animals on a weekend rotation basis.
  • Operating company vehicles and machinery such as tractors, truck and loader.
  • Checking farm for safety and security as needed.
  • Using hand-held machinery, such as grinder, drill and weed eater for routine farm upkeep.
  • Reporting any actual or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist or Senior Management.

Keys to Success:
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience
  • Basic exposure to hand tools and equipment from a farming environment.
  • 1+ years of related farm experience or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Possess basic knowledge of English, math and the ability to read.
  • Possess good mechanical proficiency.
  • Ability walk up to 2 hours a day.
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours a day
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.
