JOB SUMMARY
The Event Supervisor oversees the planning and execution of banquet and catered events by leading front-of-house operations, supervising banquet staff, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring exceptional guest service from event setup through completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for front of house operations of all banquet & event spaces and other areas as assigned.
  • Supervises staff, including hiring, scheduling, and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
  • Oversee event setup and room readiness before guest arrival.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with banquet staff.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Culinary, Security, Facilities, and other departments to ensure successful event execution.
  • Resolve operational issues during events while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor event timelines to ensure food service and event activities occur as scheduled.
  • Ensure banquet equipment, furniture, and event spaces are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Assist with forecasting staffing needs based on the event calendar.
  • Accurately process and submit payroll and gratuity reports by established deadline.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure quality of culinary standard.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service through proper training, coaching, accountability, and adherence to service standards
  • Foster a culture of positivity, teamwork, professionalism, and guest satisfaction among all team members
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout events and proactively resolve service issues to ensure an exceptional event experience
  • Ensure accuracy of all menus (food and drink) and update POS as required.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for accuracy and conduct regular BEO meetings to communicate event details with operational teams.
  • Responsible for maintaining client contact and satisfaction from the time the contract is handed off from the sales team
  • Responsible for maintaining budgeted labor and staffing levels of all outlets.
  • Responsible for overseeing ordering and inventory levels.
  • Addresses any and all food/beverage or service related guest issues and utilizes creativity and resources available to maintain optimum satisfaction.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and enforce of all health department and safety standards.
  • Responsible for completing event post-event reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Maintain interpersonal working relationships among all Team Members and the public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two (2) years of banquet, catering, or event operations experience required.
  • Event management software experience is preferred.
  • Wine and liquor knowledge required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
  • Able to obtain food handling certification.
