Full Time Positions Available - Multiple Shifts Available

Allied Universal Event Services® is hiring Full Time Security Professionals for a premier convention center and event venue in Reno, NV. These positions support daily building coverage and ongoing facility operations in a highly visible customer service and security role.

Security Professionals are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, vendors, employees, exhibitors, contractors, and visitors attending conventions, trade shows, entertainment events, and other large public gatherings. This role includes access control, interior and exterior patrols, screening operations, incident response, and customer service support throughout the facility.

This position is ideal for individuals seeking consistent full time hours in a professional event and hospitality environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the convention center and surrounding property
• Monitor entrances, exits, loading docks, and restricted access areas
• Conduct guest bag inspections in accordance with venue security policies
• Operate and monitor X ray screening equipment and walk through/handheld magnetometers as assigned
• Control access and egress for guests, vendors, employees, exhibitors, and contractors
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Identify prohibited items and follow established escalation procedures
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, and requests for assistance
• Sound alarms or contact police, fire departments, or emergency personnel when appropriate
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as trespassing, loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited items
• Assist with crowd management and directional support during high attendance events
• Observe activity throughout the property to help prevent theft and protect company assets
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by post orders
• Provide professional customer service and assistance to guests, employees, and visitors
• Make emergency notifications as required by site post orders
• Support a safe and welcoming atmosphere through professionalism, visibility, and strong communication

• Monitor CCTV

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five (5) years of work experience
• A valid Nevada PILB Security Guard Registration is required upon hire
• Candidates without an active PILB card are encouraged to apply and may be considered for employment pending successful completion of the licensing process
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Ability to interact cordially and professionally with the public in a high traffic environment
• Strong customer service skills and a commitment to safety and professionalism
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and post orders
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Active listening and situational awareness
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations accurately and efficiently
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy

• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
• Prior security, public safety, or event staff experience
• Customer service, hospitality, hotel, or convention/event experience
• Experience with access control procedures and credential verification
• Experience managing crowds or directing large groups of people during events
• Experience operating X ray, magnetometer, or other screening equipment
• Ability to de escalate conflicts in a professional manner
• Knowledge of access control or emergency response procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a high volume public setting with continuous guest interaction
• Ability to perform duties in a fast paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
• Ability to climb stairs and perform routine patrols throughout large facilities
• Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with screening, bag checks, and access control duties
• Ability to remain alert, focused, and responsive for the duration of assigned shifts
