ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary
This is a permanent direct hire opportunity for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse. The ICU RN provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients requiring advanced monitoring, life-support equipment, and complex medical interventions. ICU RNs work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, including vital signs, neurological status, cardiac rhythms, and response to treatment.
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and critical care treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and dialysis machines.
• Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, emergencies, and code situations.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans for critically ill patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and family members regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards, patient safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and hospital policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and competency training.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Critical care or ICU nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
