Job description

Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS Nights)

Shift: Nights Weekend requirement: Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks

Contract Length: Travel assignment Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year RN experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (in hand)
  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
  • Post-procedure care (post-cath/angiogram, post-IR)
  • IV/PICC/central line care, blood product administration, heparin gtt (no insulin gtt)
  • Chest tube management, feeding tube care
  • Oxygen therapy/HFNC, non-invasive airway support, isolation precautions
  • Experience with Epic charting system

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care for adults and geriatrics in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry readings and vital signs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to implement and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
