Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor, Weekends

South Campus Health and Rehabilitation Center is looking for an outstanding RN (Registered Nurse) to serve as Weekend Supervisor.


Position Summary

The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing operations during assigned weekend shifts in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations. The Weekend Supervisor ensures quality resident care, supervises nursing staff, addresses clinical concerns, manages staffing issues, and serves as the nursing leader on duty. The position requires strong leadership, clinical judgment, and knowledge of long-term care and skilled nursing regulations.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

  • Ensure residents receive quality nursing care consistent with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies.

  • Conduct rounds throughout the facility to assess resident conditions and monitor care delivery.

  • Respond to changes in resident condition and initiate appropriate interventions.

  • Review incident reports, investigate concerns, and ensure timely follow-up.

  • Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.

Staff Supervision
  • Monitor staffing levels and make appropriate assignments to ensure adequate resident coverage.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to nursing personnel.

  • Address employee performance issues and document concerns according to facility policy.

  • Ensure staff compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Department of Health regulations, AHCA requirements, CMS guidelines, and facility policies.

  • Monitor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

  • Assist with preparation for surveys and inspections.

  • Report incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences according to established procedures.

Communication and Coordination
  • Serve as the primary nursing contact during weekend operations.

  • Communicate significant resident issues to physicians, families, DON, ADON, and Administrator as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.

  • Participate in shift reports and communicate pertinent information to incoming supervisors.

Quality Assurance
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Assist with infection prevention initiatives and quality assurance activities.

  • Ensure proper medication administration practices are followed.

  • Promote resident rights, dignity, and person-centered care.

QualificationsEducation and Licensure
  • Current, active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

  • CPR certification required.

  • IV certification preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, rehabilitation, or subacute setting preferred.

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, CMS regulations, and Florida long-term care requirements preferred.
