Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab)
Location:
Naples, Florida

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after invasive cardiovascular procedures while collaborating closely with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team. This role requires strong critical thinking, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiovascular procedures.

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including patient assessment and education.

  • Continuously monitor patient status, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic parameters during procedures.

  • Administer medications, moderate sedation (as permitted), and emergency interventions when required.

  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology procedures, and other cardiovascular interventions.

  • Recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac emergencies and procedural complications.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education programs.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the hiring state (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained within the employer's required timeframe.

  • Previous Cath Lab, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or ICU experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac medications, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiovascular procedures.

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
