Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) to provide perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment while delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative nursing care
  • Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies
  • Maintain a sterile surgical environment and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques
  • Serve as a circulating nurse and assist with surgical procedures as assigned
  • Assess patients before surgery and monitor patient status throughout procedures
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products as prescribed
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and recovery staff
  • Perform accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure according to safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety guidelines
  • Participate in emergency procedures, quality improvement initiatives, and on-call coverage as required
Required Qualifications:
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and patient safety practices
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN preferred
  • CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification preferred
  • Experience in orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, general surgery, robotic, vascular, or trauma procedures
  • Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work rotating call, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required
