Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Press Brake Operator to join our SMD team. In this hands-on role, you will operate press brake machines to bend, shape, and form sheet metal according to engineering specifications. Your precision and efficiency will directly contribute to the production of components used in critical infrastructure systems worldwide.   

  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate press brake machines to bend sheet metal parts in accordance with production drawings and work orders. 
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints and layout drawings to determine required machine settings, bend sequences, and part dimensions. 
  • Tooling & Adjustment: Select appropriate dies and tooling; make necessary machine adjustments to maintain part accuracy and quality. 
  • Quality Control: Measure and inspect completed parts using calipers, gauges, and templates to ensure they meet required specifications. 
  • Documentation: Maintain production records and ensure accurate reporting of part counts, rework, and downtime. 
  • Maintenance & Safety: Perform basic maintenance on machines and workstations; always maintain a clean and safe work environment. 
  • Team Support: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and resolve issues as they arise. 

  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience operating press brake or other metal fabrication machinery preferred. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measuring instruments. 
  • Familiarity with CNC press brake controls is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance. 
  • Ability to lift, move, and position materials up to 50 lbs. 
  • Comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • This position may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
