Job description

Process Technician, PACMAN

The Process Technician, PACMAN plays a key role in launching and supporting a new production line by helping set up and test equipment, create and document workflows, keep equipment running smoothly, and step in to support day-to-day operations as needed.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Constructing and installing process equipment on a new manufacturing line
  • Support day-to-day operations of a continuously running assembly line, including assembly and maintenance of equipment, material staging, pallet jack operation, and performing actions within production systems and other Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Participate in root cause analysis with cross-functional teams
  • Identify potential safety improvements with the Manufacturing team and work with cross-functional teams to implement
  • Production inventory control tasks such as interfacing with Production Control for daily material orders, maintaining and adjusting lineside inventory to match changing production plans, and communicating material pick-up needs
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve processes by working with Manufacturing, EHS, Process Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Maintenance, etc.
  • Operate, develop written processes, and train on manufacturing equipment and powered industrial equipment (forklifts)
  • Assist in the implementation and creation of manufacturing strategies to improve operational efficiency and minimize downtime on the line
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance, with a strong focus on the safe use of production and material-handling equipment
  • Positively contributes within the team environment and collaborates across business units
  • Follow and adhere to all Redwood policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety, attendance, conduct, quality, and ethical workplace behavior.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing/production or warehouse environment
  • Previous experience in an electronic assembly, engineering technician, or Maintenance roles preferred
  • Skilled navigation of complicated HMIs to access relevant data in support of process evaluation
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Experience with writing and/or editing technical procedures
  • Excellent critical thinking and time management skills
  • Ability to follow complex written work instructions
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to use scanners, label printers, and other IT/OT equipment
  • Proficient hazard recognition skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Complete a respiratory fit test and medical evaluation and wear a fitted respirator for the full shift
  • Stand for extended periods (more than 80% of the shift)
  • Stoop, bend, push, pull and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Operate and train on equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized machinery
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Working Conditions:

  • Role includes work in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures, including heat and cold
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs
