Group/Division SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We currently have a vacancy for the position of Field Application Engineer. This position will report directly to European Application Manager Jafar Al-Kuzee. This position will involve both national and international travel. The Field Application Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of customer qualification, responding to customer queries and visiting the customer to follow up progress.

  • Sales support Providing answers to questions from the customer.
  • Visiting the customer to progress the opportunity through discussion and presentation.
  • Develop information sources Developing contacts at customers, suppliers, analysts etc that can be used as sources of market or competitor intelligence
  • Product development Suggesting potential upgrade opportunities.
  • Identifying weaknesses in the product based on customer needs

Key Responsibilities

The Field Application Engineer will provide input and support to customers primarily on the CVD, PVD products then gradually get more involved on the ETCH side. They will also communicate and present materials that offer solutions to customer issues in conjunction with the BU groups in SPTS division. They will also be involved in providing and presenting customers with training materials. The role will require heavy travel mainly in Europe that may exceed 50% of total time. Occasional weekend work and international travel may also be required for the role.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate some knowledge of how semiconductors are manufactured, the processing of semiconductors by plasma CVD, PVD or Etch and semiconductor packaging. Experience of wafer processing gained at either an equipment vendor or wafer fab would be advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master\'s Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor\'s Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
