Precision Technology Consultant (on-site/in-field)


True North Equipment is seeking a dedicated Precision Technology Consultant to support our customers and dealership teams through the implementation, training, and ongoing support of John Deere Precision Ag technology and solutions in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and technical resource, helping customers optimize performance while advancing Precision Ag adoption across the dealership.

What You'll Do

  • Operate and demonstrate the latest John Deere equipment and Precision Technology
  • Coordinate the execution of True North Equipment’s John Deere Precision Ag strategy
  • Develop and execute plans supporting Precision Ag mainstreaming across TNE departments
  • Lead and support dealership understanding of John Deere Precision Ag solutions
  • Serve as the internal and external technical specialist for precision farming products
  • Implement the adoption of new technology and product offerings
  • Develop and deliver employee and customer training
  • Provide recommendations on inventory and technology solution requirements
  • Deliver solutions-based consulting services to customers
  • Support third-party providers and related John Deere business initiatives
  • Maintain customer data compliance and professional working relationships
  • Track time for customer and internal billing
  • Perform duties safely and represent True North Equipment professionally

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of agriculture-related experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Strong technological aptitude
  • Ability to build long-lasting customer and employee relationships
  • Solutions-based mindset and ability to identify customer needs
  • Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and product training
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Mechanization, or Precision Agriculture preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Work Schedule

  • Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Seasonal on-call rotation schedule, including weekends in planting and harvest
