Job description

The Leidos Intel Sector is seeking an experienced and highly capable Education Specialist in Northern, VA to support a multidisciplinary team executing an evolving and dynamic occupational health and wellness mission.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of all education-related documentation submitted on behalf of dependent children, including but not limited to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504 Plans, reports from related service providers, and psychoeducational evaluation reports.

  • Conduct case reviews utilizing various medical databases.

  • Apply relevant subject matter expertise to conduct case reviews and to provide Special Needs Education Allowance (SNEA) eligibility recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Provide briefings on education-related topics to a variety of audiences, including family members.

  • Leverage area knowledge and educate stakeholder personnel about educational resources available within a particular geographic location.

  • Support overall education development for employee eligible family members, especially children and young adults.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in one of the following: School Psychology, Special Education, Speech/Language Pathology, or Occupational Therapy

  • Minimum of 3 years of practitioner's experience in an education system

  • Demonstrated experience supporting one or multiple public school systems

  • Must be willing to undergo an investigation for a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in DC, MD or Northern VA public school systems

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise as it relates to the Special Needs Education Allowance (SNEA)
