Job Title: Overnight Dispatch - Mauran Ambulance.
Job Overview:
Mauran Ambulance is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Night Dispatch Part-time then transition into Full-time. As a vital part of our non-emergency ambulance service, the Night Dispatch will play a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating timely and efficient transportation services during nighttime hours. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as it involves working overnight shifts.
Responsibilities:
Dispatch Operations:
  • Effectively manage and coordinate ambulance dispatch activities during the night shift.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming calls, ensuring prompt and accurate recording of information.
  • Assign and dispatch ambulance units based on location, urgency, and availability.
Communication:
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with ambulance crews, ensuring they are aware of their assignments and any changes in the schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with medical facilities, clients, and other stakeholders.
Record Keeping:
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all dispatch activities, including patient information, addresses, and dispatch times.
  • Generate reports as required for management and regulatory purposes.
 Problem Resolution:
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during the night shift, collaborating with on-call management as necessary.
Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other dispatchers and team members to ensure seamless transitions between shifts.
  • Provide support to ambulance crews as needed, facilitating a positive and efficient work environment.

Requirements:
Experience:
  • Previous experience as EMT is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and emergency/non-emergency medical transportation.
  • Must have current EMT or EMD certification. **(REQUIRED)**
Communication Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Organizational Skills:
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail in recording and maintaining accurate information.
Flexibility:
  • Must be flexible with scheduling, as the position involves overnight shifts.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed. The tentative schedule is Mon, Wed, Thurs overnight. This may change with notice.
Technology Proficiency:
  • Comfortable using EXCEL/Office, Dispatch systems and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications.

Compensation:
This position is salary-based, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Shift is 14hrs three nights a week.
