General Description
The Student gameLab Assistant - eSports will assist the eSports Coach in supporting the gameLab by keeping the space organized, assisting students and more.

Minimum Education/Experience
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the Summer semester if they aren't enrolled in the following semester.
OR
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
General knowledge of eSports, particularly competitive games such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Valorant, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros.
Basic knowledge of Discord.
Familiar with various game launchers.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Good organizational skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to be productive with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Cultural Programs Office, the OCCC theaters, Art Gallery, and campus to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to customers, vendors, students, staff, faculty, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer, other office equipment and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to position self to access equipment, materials, or supplies that may be above head or ground level.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor office setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Computer Science knowledge is a plus but not required.
Social Media experience is a plus but not required.
Required Training
Work Hours
20-25 hrs. per week, Monday - Thursday, between the hours of 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM and Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Some evenings and weekends as assigned in support of special events.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Clean equipment regularly by wiping down desks, keyboard, mice, and mousepads with disinfectant.
Maintain PCs and check for updates, games that can be uninstalled, or anything else to help setups run more smoothly.
Check-in students and check out equipment to students.
Ensure students check out and keep count of equipment.
Assist in any gameLab events.
Work on cable management if needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
