Job description

We are pleased to have been retained by our client, Gracepoint School, to find a Director of Admissions to serve this special school. We are looking for more than just an Admissions Director; we need a candidate who can balance the administrative side of the position (student recruitment, admissions, re-enrollments, record keeping, etc.) with the 'heart' of the role, serving as a "storyteller" for the school, sharing the school's unique message and goals with prospective families and students. As the Director of Admissions, you will be the steward for the school's mission to equip dyslexic students with the lifelong desire for growing in wisdom and gaining knowledge of the Lord so they may fulfill God's purposes and bring glory to Him. Overview

Full-Time, year-round position, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm, hours during school year

Salary: $65,000 + Benefits

Location: Marietta, Georgia, onsite

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement enrollment strategies to meet goals established by the Board of Trustees.
  • Partner closely with the Head of School to support the overall effectiveness and growth of the school.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Head of School regarding prospective applicants and admissions activity.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications & Marketing and Director of Advancement on outreach efforts, including fairs, tours, and community events.
  • Organize and oversee admissions events, including Open Houses, campus tours, and shadow days.
  • Manage the Admissions budget and ensure expenditures align with approved guidelines.
  • Prepare and present the annual Admissions report for the Board of Trustees.
  • Effectively communicate the school's mission, values, and culture to prospective families and the community.
  • Oversee admissions and re-enrollment processes for Lower and Middle School students.
  • Guide families through tuition assistance and financial aid processes, including deadlines and application requirements.
  • Stay informed on admissions trends, timelines, and best practices within regional independent schools.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and relevant organizations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Key Duties

Admissions & Enrollment

  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective families throughout the admissions process.
  • Conduct tours, interviews, and shadow day coordination for prospective students.
  • Review and evaluate applicant materials, including report cards, evaluations, testing, and educational assessments.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to assess applicant fit academically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.
  • Maintain accurate admissions records and applicant tracking within school systems.
  • Communicate admissions decisions and manage wait pools as needed.

New Family Onboarding

  • Coordinate onboarding opportunities and communications for newly enrolled families.
  • Provide families with important school information, calendars, procedures, and resources.
  • Organize welcome events and orientation opportunities for new students and parents.
  • Keep new families informed of important dates and school activities.

Re-Enrollment

  • Manage annual re-enrollment timelines, communications, and contract completion.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with current families regarding enrollment status.
