Job description

Field Director – Texas

Location: Corpus Christi, TX | Edinburg, TX

Position Type: Campaign Position / Full-time

Schedule: Full-time, including evenings and weekends

Pay: $12,000 per month

Bilingual Preferred: English/Spanish

We are hiring a Field Director to lead a voter registration canvassing program in Texas. The Field Director runs day-to-day field operations — recruiting, training, and managing canvassers, assigning turf, running quality control, and making sure every voter registration application is handled according to Texas requirements.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable directing a team in neighborhoods, community spaces, and other approved outreach locations. We are hiring generally across Texas and collecting resumes to staff current and future locations as the program grows. Field Directors receive program training and complete the county Volunteer Deputy Registrar appointment process before leading field work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive field strategy and daily canvassing/voter registration plans.

• Recruit, hire, train, and manage Deputy Field Directors, Field Organizers, and canvassers.

• Set and track daily, weekly, and cumulative performance goals across all turf.

• Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting using VAN/MiniVAN.

• Conduct regular check-ins, debriefs, and performance coaching with staff.

• Coordinate with campaign leadership on targeting, messaging, and resource allocation.

• Troubleshoot operational challenges and adjust tactics as needed.

• Maintain compliance with all voter registration and election regulations (where applicable).

• Gather and report success stories for internal and external communications.

• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ cycles of campaign or organizing experience, including at least 1 in a management role.

• Proven ability to recruit, train, and manage field staff at scale.

• Strong proficiency with VAN/VoteBuilder and MiniVAN.

• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze metrics and adjust strategy.

• Creative problem-solver who thrives under pressure.

• Able to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

• Must have a working smartphone with access to apps.

• Must be available full-time, including evenings and weekends.

• Must complete required program training before beginning field work.

• Willingness to relocate to or be based in assigned region for duration of program.

• Must be able to meet Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrar eligibility requirements (for VR programs), including:

◦ Be at least 18 years old.

◦ Be a United States citizen.

◦ Be a resident of the State of Texas.

◦ Not have been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated, or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

◦ Never have been convicted of failing to deliver a voter registration application to a voter registrar.

◦ Not have been finally convicted of a felony, or, if convicted, must have fully discharged the sentence — including any term of incarceration, parole, or supervision, or completed a period of probation ordered by any court — or been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disability to vote.

◦ Not have been finally convicted of identity theft under Section 32.51 of the Texas Penal Code.

• Must follow all Texas voter registration, form-handling, and submission requirements.

Why Join Us

• Competitive monthly salary ($12,000/month).

• A senior leadership role on a mission-driven team.

• Make direct impact on voter engagement and Democratic victories in South Texas.

• Work with a supportive, mission-driven team.
