Job description

Idaho State Democratic Party: Voter Contact Coordinator

The Idaho Democratic Party is hiring a full-time Voter Contact Coordinator for the 2026 Coordinated Campaign. This is a newly created statewide role designed to expand professional voter-contact capacity for all Coordinated Campaign participants, including candidates, county parties, and legislative district committees—particularly those without dedicated Field Organizers.

The Voter Contact Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Coordinated Campaign Field Director and will provide technical, data, and logistical support for voter contact programs across Idaho. This position ensures that phonebanks, door-knocking turfs, and voter contact universes are targeted, efficient, and professionally executed throughout the 2026 election cycle.

This is a full-time position based in Boise, Idaho, running from May 2026, through November 2026.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain targeted voter contact universes using VoteBuilder, including phonebanks, canvassing turfs, and GOTV universes.
  • Cut and distribute door-knocking turfs for Field Organizers, Voter Outreach Specialists, volunteers, and partner campaigns.
  • Set up and manage phonebanks and textbanks for Coordinated Campaign participants, including candidates, county parties, and volunteer coordinators.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to Field Organizers, Volunteer Coordinators, candidates, and campaign staff on voter contact tools and best practices.
  • Ensure voter contact programs are aligned with Coordinated Campaign targeting models, district classifications, and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain clear documentation and instructions for voter contact programs to ensure consistency and ease of use across campaigns.
  • Coordinate closely with the Field Director to support statewide GOTV, voter identification, and turnout operations.
  • Troubleshoot data, turf, and voter-contact issues in real time to keep programs running smoothly.
  • Track voter contact activity and provide regular reports on usage, capacity, and performance to Coordinated Campaign leadership.
  • Support districts without dedicated Field Organizers by ensuring they receive professional-level voter contact infrastructure and guidance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Idaho Democratic Party leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience with campaign voter contact programs, including phonebanking and door-to-door canvassing.
  • Strong proficiency with VoteBuilder (VAN), including list-building, turf-cutting, and data management.
  • Experience setting up and managing phonebanks, canvassing programs, or large-scale GOTV operations.
  • Strong training, communication, and technical support skills, with the ability to explain complex processes clearly.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfort working independently while coordinating with a statewide field team.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends during peak campaign periods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced campaign environment.
  • A strong commitment to electing Democrats and advancing Democratic values across Idaho.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $50,000-$55,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Severance: Three weeks of severance pay following the end of employment term on November 6, 2026.
  • Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance, 3% employer-paid retirement contribution, and monthly computer and phone stipends.
