Description

American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of OR experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details
  • Operating Room setting within a hospital environment
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts scheduled 19:00-7:30
  • Weekday scheduled shifts of 10 hours with weekday night call shifts of 8 hours (2300-0700)
  • Weekend scheduled and call shifts of 10-12 hours, up to 6 total call/weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital approximately 15 minutes away, with travelers prioritized for floating
Requirements
  • Active OR RN license required, with Oregon RN license pending acceptable but Oregon CNA license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required, ideally at a Level I or II trauma hospital
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Wide range of surgical specialties supported including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, neurology, thoracic, and robotic-assisted procedures
  • Experience with robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System is a plus
  • Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent employees of the Salem Health system are ineligible to apply for travel positions for six months following their termination date
  • Candidates may only be submitted to one position within the Salem Health system
  • RTO must be finalized prior to consideration, with additional RTO requests after submission potentially resulting in removal from consideration
  • Facility generally prefers to fill positions 3-4 weeks from the current date
