Job description

Work in our World of Confections! Join our exceptional Big Island Candies' Factory Team, and be a part of producing our signature products, known and enjoyed around the world. Do you love chocolate? Have a true passion for it with all your heart? Crave the excitement of creating a variety of delicious, high-quality confections, ones sure to put beaming smiles on people's faces here in Hawaii and beyond? If you answered, "Yes!", then apply to become a part of Big Island Candies' Factory Team! We will begin interviewing in mid-July with position starting in late August. Here are some of the "ingredients" that go into our recipe for job success:
For Baker Helper:
  • Assist with baking cookies, pies, brownies, breads, etc.
  • Set up, operate and disassemble various bakery equipment;

Other duties include:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and comply with Big Island Candies' Safety, Quality, and Reliability Procedures;
  • Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety standards;
  • Work safely to prevent injury to self and others, and prevent damage to products, equipment and property;
  • Maintain cleanliness within the work area;
  • Produce exquisite confectionary products;
  • Perform food-safety and quality-control checks;
  • Must be able to work independently or with a team; able to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
  • Ability to communicate and share information with peers and internal customers;
  • Honest, hardworking and caring;
  • Responsible, energetic and detail-oriented;
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English;
  • Must have basic math skills;
  • Must be able to follow instructions;
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift;
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:
Immediate Openings: Full-Time Day Shift, Monday thru Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Full-time Night Shift will be available starting late August: 2:30 pm -11:00 pm
Weekends and overtime may be required during peak/seasonal periods and depending on operational needs.
