Job description

Job Title: Construction Foreman
Company Description:
Alliance Construction and Design is a leading construction firm specializing in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Foreman to join our team.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Foreman to lead and work alongside a crew of carpenters and laborers. The Construction Foreman will take direction from the Site Superintendent and ultimately be responsible for the performance, standards, safety, and productivity of the crew. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pre-engineered metal buildings, steel and wood stud framing, siding, and finish carpentry as well as a proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage a crew of carpenters and laborers to self-perform various scopes of work across multiple projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications and report discrepancies to the Site Superintendent.
  • Oversee the installation of structural components, including studs, joists, rafters, and trusses, etc., ensuring accuracy and adherence to building codes.
  • Monitor crew productivity making adjustments as necessary to meet project deadlines and report updates to the Site Superintendent.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all crew members.
  • Ensure the crew fully understands the details for completion and train and mentor to develop their skills to enhance performance.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and equipment, and coordinate with the Procurement Manager to ensure timely delivery of supplies to the jobsite.
  • Conduct quality inspections to identify defects or deficiencies and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports, including daily activity logs, time sheets, and incident reports.
  • A list of completed projects will be requested prior to an interview.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; preference will be given to candidates with additional vocational training or certification in carpentry or construction management.
  • Ten (10) to 15 years of experience at a construction company, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and safety practices particularly in steel and wood stud settings.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, as a team, to meet tight deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. A company vehicle will be issued within 90-days if employee maintains satisfactory performance and is approved by Alliance's insurance company.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Agility to climb ladders and navigate construction sites safely.
