Job description

Armature Works is looking for Porter to assist with keeping our restaurant location in a safe, clean and orderly condition. If you want to kickstart your career in the restaurant industry and be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, weโ€™d like to meet you. Note that this role requires working in shifts and, occasionally, during evenings or weekends.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, scrub, mop floors
  • Dust furniture and fittings
  • Empty and clean trash containers
  • Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
  • Clean and stock restrooms
  • Wipe down glass surfaces
  • Wash windows as scheduled
  • Operate mechanized cleaning equipment
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
  • Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Courteous and pleasant to all guests
  • Ability to work as a team with fellow porters and other staff
  • Ability to follow direction from supervisors/managers
  • Previous job references are required
  • Availability to work nights, weekend and/or holidays may be required

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in the porter or janitorial field is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Remain standing for extended periods of time.
  • Bending, squatting and lifting up to 20 lbs. for short distances.
  • Ability to work with varying noise levels.
