Job description

Challenger School is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team at our California campuses as a computer teacher. Challenger uses computer programming to teach students to be independent, critical thinkers. As a computer teacher at Challenger, you will be responsible for teaching programming lessons in ways that support this goal. A proven programming curriculum is already in place and training will be provided. ย This position may include teaching other elementary subjects, as needed.

We are currently hiring for our eight locations in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly learn and deliver Challengerโ€™s curriculum, teaching methods, and philosophy
  • Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment
  • Prepare daily lesson plans
  • Teach a variety of programming classes from 1stย to 8thย grade, according to campus needs
  • Work patiently with students, parents, and coworkers

Qualifications

  • 4-year college bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology
  • Familiarity with programming languages, particularly Pythonย 
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Completion of pre-employment assessments
