Position Available: Full-time Middle School Spanish Teacher- 5th- 8th Grade
Start date: September 1, 2026
Action Day Middle School is seeking a confident, engaging, and dependable Middle School Math Substitute Teacher to support our students and maintain a positive, productive classroom environment during a teacher absence. This role requires a strong math educator who is comfortable teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry, our highest-level math course, and can step into an established classroom, take the reins, and provide consistent, high-quality instruction from day one.
This is an important academic year for our 8th graders, and we are looking for someone who can keep students on track while building their confidence and understanding of key mathematical concepts. The ideal candidate will bring strong math knowledge, effective classroom management, and the ability to quickly connect with and support middle school learners.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide engaging middle school math instruction using established lesson plans and curriculum, including Algebra 1 and Geometry.
  • Step into the classroom with confidence, quickly establish rapport with students, and maintain continuity in their learning and academic progress.
  • Support students with grade-level math concepts, assignments, and problem-solving while monitoring their understanding and providing additional guidance as needed.
  • Maintain established classroom routines, expectations, and behavior standards while creating a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Take attendance, complete required classroom documentation, and communicate relevant updates or concerns to school administration.
  • Follow Action Day Schools policies and student safety procedures while collaborating professionally with teachers, administrators, and staff.
  • Remain flexible and assist with additional classroom or campus responsibilities as needed.

Compensation: $33- $38 per hour depending on individual experience, education and position requirements.

Requirements
Our ideal candidate will come to us with:
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience
  • Experience teaching mathematics to school-aged students
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Masters in Education or Related Field (preferred)
  • Current Teaching Credential (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics with the ability to confidently teach Algebra 1 and Geometry.
  • A love and passion for working with students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A reliable, can-do attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow!
