Job description

This role is located at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, near Palmdale/Lancaster, CA.  As a part of this team, you will be required to work a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 6:30am-4:00pm with occasional overtime (weekdays or weekends) to support mission flight operations.

Responsibilities:
•    Support telemetry and data processing system operations as required, both individually and with senior personnel.
•    Configure and calibrate systems mission support in accordance with preflight procedures.
•    Monitor for, and recognize, system anomalies and perform preventive/corrective maintenance on IT systems, both individually and with senior personnel.
•    Maintain procedures, records, logs, mission/system databases, in adherence to configuration control processes.
•    Develop, test, validate, and verify application software to meet project-specific configuration requirements for setup and/or compilation of processing as well as display software customizations.
•    Schedule, test, validate, and verify new Mission Builds and Mission Control Center workstation software releases.
•    Basic PC configuration, to include connections to video input sources, as well as outputs to monitor and projectors.
•    Maintain documentation on all projects and systems supported, to include the complete audit trail for every change made to the application or system software, and provide to customers upon request.

Requirements:
•    Associates Degree (or technical school training) in electronics, information technology, or related field, with 3 years related work experience.
•    Ability to identify and resolve problems in time critical situations.
•    Demonstrate principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
•    Work in a team environment, work under deadlines, and work under pressure of real-time missions.
•    Perform work in an ISO compliant/certified environment.
•    Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal forms.
•    Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
•    Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force Flight Line Driver’s License.
•    Maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Desired Skills:
•    Experience configuring and operating highly specialized telemetry processing systems.
•    Basic knowledge of operations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting following standardized procedures.
•    Use of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
•    Basic programming in HTML, XLM, C, or C#.

Physical Requirements:
•    Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment including a computer and keyboard; vision to read printed materials, correspondence and a computer screen. Occasional outdoor, remote work areas, and working in elevated heights may be required. Position may involve frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching and lifting (may range from 10-50lbs on a regular basis)
