Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the Nurtur Core Values, Core Behaviors, and Aveda Success Factors
  • Actively teach and facilitate classes
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Massage Therapy Program curriculum
  • Provide ongoing recognition, support, and motivation for team members and students
  • Lead and mentor a team of educators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Actively engage students in their education through demonstrations, activities, and interactive teaching
  • Continually check with students for understanding of subject matter and adjust teaching methods as-needed
  • Organize and oversee student assessments, ensuring a fair and effective evaluation
    process
  • Ensure all students fulfill the regulatory requirements set by the NC Board of Massage &
    Bodywork Therapy for licensure application
  • Serve as a role model by communicating and enforcing policies and procedures, safety and security standards, the Code of Conduct, and the dress code
  • Partner with Director and Education Manager to ensure compliance with all NACCAS and State Board regulations
  • Partner with Institute & Regional Directors to ensure smooth operation of the educational
    programs
  • Partner with Institute leadership on hiring and training for the education team
  • Conduct regular weekly/monthly check-ins, quarterly touchbases and annual
    reviews
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state regulations, and institutional
    policies
  • Oversee team organization and effectiveness, including scheduling and Educator/Student
    Ratio
  • Effectively implement and sustain curriculum initiatives in course curriculum and service
    cycles
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule; including evenings and weekends
  • Participate in Aveda and Nurtur corporate events including career fairs, marketing events,
    Earth Month, Beauty for a Cure, etc.
  • Perform duties as assigned and/or required to meet business needs
  • Abide by all other Nurtur policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
    and Code of Conduct

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • A valid, state-issued Massage Therapy license and maintenance of such license
  • Experience in a salon/spa setting
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit leadership qualities, time-management abilities, organizational skills, self-direction, and initiative
  • Ability to set and achieve goals, implement decisions, and work under strict deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence and to the Company's mission and vision


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Walk, stand up, and/or sit for up to twelve (12) hours per day
  • Use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms
  • Walk, sit, stand, balance, stoop, speak, and hear
  • See a computer screen and read paper and electronic documents
  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds
  • Tolerate a minimal to moderate noise level typical of a school environment
