Steel fabrication consists of bolting and/or welding parts to main steel members such as beams and columns per the design drawing. Material are move with overhead cranes and forklifts. We prime paint finished products and load trucks for delivery.
CNC machines include Ocean Clipper II angle line to process angle iron, Hypertherm Plasma table that process plate parts, Ficep FRC plasma line that cuts beams, tubes and misc shapes, (2) Ficep drill lines with band saws. We also fabricated light industrial steel such as stairs and railings.
We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to operate and maintain CNC fabrication equipment used in structural steel processing. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machinery to cut, drill, and process steel components according to engineering drawings and production specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery including:
- Angle lines (Ocean Clipper II)
- Plasma tables (Hypertherm)
- Beam drill lines and band saws (Ficep systems)
- Load and position steel materials for machining operations
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and CNC programs
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine inspections to ensure accuracy and quality standards
- Move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes safely
- Assist with basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience with structural steel or heavy industrial materials preferred
Preferred Certifications
- Forklift Operator Certification
- Overhead Crane Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Safety Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs
- Standing for extended periods
- Working around heavy machinery in a shop environment
