POSITION SUMMARY

The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, & maintaining CNC programs for a range of machining operations including multi-axis mills and lathes. Working closely with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel, this role directly impacts part quality, cycle time, and shop efficiency. ESPRIT CAM proficiency is a plus, this is a hands-on programming role for someone who knows their way around the shop floor as well as the screen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and optimize CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM software
  • Program 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to develop accurate machining strategies
  • Develop setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation
  • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues on the shop floor
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining part quality and tool life
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience
  • Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, or mill-turn machines
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
  • Solid knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Nakamura, Okuma, or similar CNC controls

Preferred:

  • 5-axis programming experience

  • Strong proficiency with ESPRIT CAM software is a plus

  • Background in aerospace, defense, or precision machining

  • Experience with CAD software and solid models (SolidWorks, STEP, IGES, etc.)

  • Experience with automation or multi-tasking machines

  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
