Looking for a lab assignment where your expertise truly stands out?

If you're an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) who thrives in an independent work environment, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a critical access hospital on California's beautiful Mendocino Coast.

You'll play a key role as the primary weekend CLS, performing complex laboratory testing across multiple disciplines while enjoying one of the most scenic coastal locations in California.


Position Details
  • Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

  • Location: Fort Bragg, California

  • Contract: 13 Weeks

  • Schedule:

    • Day Shift

    • 3×12-hour shifts

    • Saturday, Sunday & Monday

    • 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM

  • Call: None

  • EMR: Epic experience required


What You'll Need
  • Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of recent Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience

  • Strong experience in:

    • Microbiology

    • Blood Bank

    • Hematology

    • Chemistry

    • Coagulation

    • Urinalysis

  • Ability to work independently

  • Recent Epic experience

  • ASCP Certification preferred

  • Phlebotomy experience is not required


What You'll Do
  • Perform high-complexity laboratory testing across multiple departments

  • Analyze and verify laboratory results for accuracy and quality

  • Perform testing in microbiology, blood bank, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis

  • Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and perform quality control procedures

  • Communicate critical laboratory values promptly to providers

  • Maintain laboratory documentation and regulatory compliance

  • Support laboratory operations while working independently during weekend shifts
